So we can start on time, please make sure:
- you’ve completed any required online learning beforehand, allow up to 2 hours for CPR and 2 – 4 hours for Provide First Aid.
- the manikin kit you received after booking is set up and ready to use.
- you test your video camera, microphone, speakers and have a stable internet connection 15 minutes prior.
- the camera on the device you’re using captures the demonstration of the practical tasks including CPR on a manikin on the floor nearby.
If your course involves blended learning (online and in person), you will need to complete the online learning prior to your in person session. Certificates can not be issued until all requirements have been met.
We recommend 2 – 4 hours to complete prior to attending in person. You can save your progress and complete at your own pace.
First aid and CPR courses include practical demonstrations and activities on the floor, so it’s advisable to wear comfortable clothing and you can bring a towel if you wish to support your knees.
For accredited courses (excluding blended and virtual learning), you will need your own smart device such as smart phone, tablet or laptop to have mobile data and be fully charged to complete an online multiple-choice quiz as part of your assessment. Some venues have wi-fi available.
No, though most of our venues have food facilities nearby. If you wish to bring your own food, we can’t guarantee the availability of kitchen facilities.
Onsite parking is available at some locations and a number of other public car parks are also available within walking distance (fees may apply). Please refer to local transport companies timetables.
You will receive your certificate after you have met the requirements for completing the course, such as finishing the assesment and providing your date of birth and USI number as required for accedited courses. If you haven’t received an email within 5 days, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 1800 733 276.
Yes. A parent/guardian is required to read the terms and conditions and sign when enroling. We want as many people as possible to do first aid training and offer courses for all ages including children under 14.
Nationally recognised first aid training requires that students must demonstrate at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single-rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) [5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations] on an adult manikin placed on the floor.
You’re welcome to bring a towel to support your knees. If you have additional support needs, please let us know before your course on 1800 733 276.
We recommend that attendees arrange child-care/babysitting to allow attention on the course content. Otherwise, Red Cross trainers can make efforts to accommodate parents who have children present, such as breastfeeding mothers/caregivers, if they know in advance. Contact us to discuss on 1800 733 276.
