HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting One Day

Learn how to provide first aid in an education and care setting in a single day!

Dive into an engaging and enriching first aid workshop tailored specifically for educators and caregivers.  Our interactive session covers an array of vital topics and considerations, equipping you with practical, evidence-based techniques for addressing a diverse range of injuries and illnesses common in children, such as asthma and anaphylaxis.  Join us for a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience, where you'll gain hands-on practice and invaluable skills.

Note:  Includes CPR (HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

Duration:  1-day face-to-face classroom session (no pre-learning required).

Target Audience:

This course is suitable for first time learners or people seeking to refresh their skills.  The course is appropriate for childcare workers‚ educators, and support staff working within an educational and childcare setting. Also suitable for parents wanting child-focused‚ comprehensive, accredited first aid training.

This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority

Learning Outcomes:

  • On successful completion of this course students will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment
  • Units of Competency: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support, HLTAID011 Provide first aid, HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting

Learning Methods:

Demonstration of practical skills‚ participation in role-plays‚ analysis of case studies and a theory assessment.

Please note it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.
