HLTSS00068 – Occupational First Aid Skill Set
This course provides the occupational first aider with advanced knowledge and skills to carry out emergency first aid for injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
Participants will come away with a set of skills to establish‚ maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in a workplace, including first aid response in the event of an emergency. State and federal legislation regarding first aid in the workplace is also covered.

Target Audience:
Anyone employed in‚ or intending to be employed in a nominated occupational first aider role
Learning Outcomes:
- On successful completion of Occupational First Aid Skill Set, students will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment which includes below unit of competency
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- HLTAID014 Provide advanced first aid
- HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
Learning Methods:
Demonstration of practical skills‚ participation in role-plays, analysis of case studies, assessment activities and a quiz.
Please note it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.
