BMPI Blood Management Process Improvement Skill Set  

Target Audience:
Health care professionals (including nurses, midwives and scientists) currently working in or associated with the field of transfusion/blood management.
Staff responsible for managing organisational compliance of blood related standards and associated activities. For the Australian audience, this would include the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard 7.
Individuals working towards a career in the above mentioned areas.

Skill Set Outcomes:
To achieve a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised 
Blood Management Process Improvement Skill Set, the following three units of competency must be successfully completed:
NAT10877004 Develop a change plan for blood management processes
BSBOPS403 Apply business risk management processes
BSBINS401 Analyse and present research information

Assessment Methods:
Knowledge and practical skills will be assessed by direct observation, analysis of case studies, provision of portfolios of evidence, completion of a project and review of written responses to questions.

Program Benefits:

Learn how to improve blood management processes by 
developing change plans and applying risk management techniques.

Time Commitment:
The associated units of competency will be delivered intermittently over a four month period. It is advisable to allocate at least 14 hours/week for online learning and additional time for assessment activities and private study.
